Two new event opportunities for food and drink producers in the East Midlands

Food and drink producers are being invited to take part in two special events this summer.

East Midlands Fine Foods is organising stalls at Mansfield Jubilee Food and Drink Fair, as part of the Queen’s diamond jubilee celebrations in the town.

Taking place on Tuesday June 5th, the event is being branded the Best of British and will feature activities for all the family.

East Midlands Fine Foods, which promotes food and drink producers from Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland, is also managing the food and drink marquee at the Festival of Heroes event in Grantham, which is being staged on July 7th and 8th.

The aim of the event, which takes place at the Prince William of Gloucester Barracks, is to raise the profile of the Territorial Army, as well as raise money for Help the Heroes charity and ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.

A large speciality food and drink marquee celebrating the best of British food and drink will be staged within the festival. East Midlands Fine Foods is organising for a range of traders to take space.

“These two events, along with our regular monthly Regional and Speciality Food and Drink Market in Nottingham, are great opportunities for food and drink producers in the region to sell directly to members of the public,” said East Midlands Fine Foods event organiser Toni Jarvis.

“East Midlands Fine Foods has many years of experience in organising stalls and markets at a range of events and venues, and we are very pleased to be getting involved with these two special events in Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire this summer.”

For more information about stalls at either event call 0115 9758810.

Shoppers treated to new Loughborough Christmas Food and Drink Festival

Loughborough is staging a festive food and drink market featuring a range of great-tasting goodies.

The Loughborough Christmas Food and Drink Festival is being held on Friday December 16th – and coincides with a craft fair in the Market Place.

Running from 10am to 4pm, the event gives shoppers the chance to pick up unusual Christmas gifts and buy delicious food and drink direct from producers.

Stallholders will be selling a range of mouth-watering items including meat, cheese, olives, speciality oils, sausages, curry pastes, roast potatoes, pies, Caribbean sauces, sweets, chocolates, crepes, cakes, cider, liqueurs and wine.

The Wildlife Trust will also be running a stall at the event, which is the latest in a number of food and drink markets organised for Loughborough by East Midlands Fine Foods on behalf of Charnwood Borough Council.

“This will be a great opportunity for shoppers to buy some really tasty products for Christmas direct from those who are making them,” said Fiona Anderson, from East Midlands Fine Foods.

“Markets and fairs are an excellent way to meet producers and those who have a strong knowledge about the items that they are selling. They can give tips on how best to cook or serve something, and what its origins are.”
C
ouncillor Paul Harley, Charnwood Borough Council’s Cabinet member for Leisure and Culture, said: “The Christmas food and drink market is part of our packed Country Comes To Town Christmas Programme which is helping the Borough feel festive while offering up some Yuletide treats!

“The food and drink market is the perfect venue to find something a little bit special for the Christmas dinner table this year while you could even pick up a last minute Christmas gift for your loved ones.

“It is yet another example of why you need to look no further than Loughborough for your Christmas shopping this year!”

East Midlands Fine Foods seeks applications from stall holders for October and December markets in Loughborough

Speciality food and drink producers are being given new opportunities to sell direct to the public with the launch of fine food markets in Loughborough in October and December.

Loughborough English Food and Drink Festival events will be staged on Sunday October 23rd and again on December 16th.

The markets, which are being run by regional food group East Midlands Fine Foods on behalf of Charnwood Borough Council, are open to artisan food and drink producers across the UK and follow a similar event held in April for the first time.

“The Loughborough English Food and Drink Festival in April provided a great chance for speciality food and drink firms to sell direct to the public,” said Jo Taylor, events manager at East Midlands Fine Foods.

“We’re hoping to have a good range of producers at both the October and December events.”

The festivals will be held in the Market Place, Loughborough, in the centre of the town.

Organisers are looking for all sorts of producers from cheese makers to chutney producers and bread makers to beer suppliers.

“There are so many wonderful products made in the East Midlands and beyond, so we’re hoping for an excellent array of items for shoppers,” added Jo.
